I called BC Longboards & requested a deck to handle any parking structure & hill we could throw its way. BC Longboards Torpedo did not disappoint. The BC Torpedo offers a very stable & responsive ride. Having a fairly aggressive concave makes the Torpedo hands down the best downhill deck in BC Longboards quiver. The motto behind this deck was FAST & FURIOUS. BC Longboards tested their Torpedo diligently, using different materials, designs, & shapes.
The TOrpedo combines the control of a top mount decks & the locked in feel of a drop deck. All this is done using a trade secret process of bending Bamboo in 3 dimensions. The center of the deck was tested
The Torpedo is a board designed to go fast. It combines the control of a top mount with the locked in feel of a drop deck. To achieve this we learned to bend bamboo in 3 dimensions. The wheelbase options on the Torpedo are one of the best features, allowing this deck to transform from a downhill missle, to a carving machine! The Torpedo was designed to hit ever 1/4″ increment between 27.5″ all the way to 29.25″, offering riders 6 total wheelbase options to tackle whatever track comes ahead of you.
The shape of the Torpedo bring riders confidence & peace of mind while bombing hills at 55 miles per hour, inches off the asphalt. My favorite feature of the Torpedo is the fact that it responds the same no matter which end is pointing ahead of you.
BC Longboards recommends the Torpedo be set up using 180mm longboard trucks, along with 70mm longboard wheels. The perfect downhill set up will require a softer, square lipped wheel such as Abec 11′s ZigZags. For a solid freeride setup equip a round lipped wheel.
